Pokemon is a Video Game turned Anime turned Manga about a ten year old boy named Satoshi who vows that he will be the greatest Pokemon master ever and will catch every last Pokemon there is. A Pokemon is one of over 250 species of animal-like things that inhabit his universe. You must collect these "pocket monsters" and battle them amongst themselves to make them stronger and let them defeat more and more opponents. To become a Pokemon master, Satoshi must earn badges (obtained by defeating various gym leaders in pokemon combat) so he will be able to enter competition in the Indigo League championships. There are other leagues out there however, such as the Orange League and the Johto League (not covered in the manga, in Pokemon Gold/Silver). The manga itself was originally called Dengeki Pikachu and was illustrated by Toshihiro Ono. The translation, featured here, was simply called Pokemon and was released in four parts: "The Electric Tale of Pikachu" (which does not appear in this gallery), "Pikachu Shocks Back", "Electric Pikachu Boogaloo", and "Surf's Up, Pikachu!" It was translated and released by Viz communications. For the record, Satoshi's name is Ash Ketchum in the English version. I'm sure that summary will benefit one or two people out there who don't know what Pokemon is -_^ These scans are a byproduct of the anhillation of the Team Rocket Palace manga summaries. Since the page is about Team Rocket, most of these scans will be Roketto Dan-centric. ![]() |
